Take MY Advice... SERIOUSLY!!!

Ok... just to premise this next entry... Lately I have had some taste bud issues. Food hasn't really had much taste, no matter what I've done to it. I think it is just one of those phases that taste buds go through. So, I took this opportunity to start spicing up my food, because I really like spicy food. As most of you know, I have had past intestinal problems, which has limited my spicy food intake over the past few years.

However, the old stomach has been feeling very good lately, so I wanted to get back to my spicy roots. Mainly by adding crushed red pepper, jalapenos, and other various peppers and blends. Tonight I went for the jugular. I put a habenero pepper (yes, a full one, including seeds, on my smothered chicken breast). Poor decision to say the least. After 1 bite I could feel it, 1/2 way through I picked out the seeds, and 3/4 of the way through I was hurtin. Eyes were watering, nose running, and talking became difficult. I brought a glass of milk down with me and drank it. Within 10 minutes the burning had stopped and I could actually taste the pepper.

So that's it, you ask? Oh no... why would I just blog about that? After dinner I washed my hands thoroughly. However, I continued to wipe my mouth with my hands. Then, I went to take a pee. Bad decision #2. 5 minutes later, I could feel the burn. It started off mildly, then became painful. Luckily, I had my trusty baby wipes with me that quickly soothed the pain.

So, this whole entry boils down to... Don't eat habenero peppers with the seeds, and DO NOT touch any sensitive areas unless you are sure the pepper juice is off of your hands!

  1. You sound like and old man already. Can't eat spicy food. Pretty soon we'll be reading about how an ice cream only cost a nickel.
