Survived... Barely

So, by some strange coincidence, Friday the 13th always seems to be one of those days in the fire service where weird shit just seems to happen. I was not on the 1st out squad yesterday, which proved to be a great thing (they had 3 calls that turned into psych calls of some kind). It also provided for me one of the most memorable moments in my driving history.

We sat across the street watching a minor accident balloon into a Springer-esque riot. A large Caucasian woman and a large African/American woman were getting involved in a heated screaming match (both while talking to someone else on their cell phones) There were at least 3 times i thought they were just gonna throw down. Then the Caucasian lady appeared to try to get in her car and flee the scene. That's when the shit hit the fan. The African/American girl ran over, and started hitting the side of the car (I think she also ripped the girls radio antenna off too). So whitey responds by getting out of her car and tearing one of the African/American's windshield wipers clean off. Then they started swinging. At that point my Lt decided we should put the lights on and break it up until the cops could arrive.

Of course... I am just speculating that all of this happened, I didn't "actually" see anything.
